How did you accomplish the raised pattern for the phoenix? I'm working on a project of my own and I wanted to incorporate a similar raised symbol, but none of the suggestions I found online seemed like they would accomplish quite what I was looking for.

I cut out and shape each piece that makes up the shape of the phoenix.
I glue them to the end board and press it overnight.
Then, I apply the leather and tool and crease around the shapes.
It is a long process, but once you do it enough, you get faster and more accurate.
Cheers

thanks for the reply. I see that most of your books range from $150-200. Other than the cover what makes these books worth so much? On average how many pages are supplied in each?

My books are hand sewn in a 16th century period bind fashion with supported cord, hand sewn headbands and handmade marbled paper. The techniques I use to create my books are techniques handed down from master bookbinders from Italy.
I have done extensive research and many years of training to bind a quality book that will last for many, may years to come.
I have also created some of my own techniques that are incorporated into each creation I make.
I strive to provide not just a journal, but an actual creation that is well made and something the owner is proud to own.
Cheers
