Dark Forest Journal by BCcreativity Dark Forest Journal by BCcreativity
This is a Dark Forest Journal I created. It has a five cord spine and hand sewn headbands. Handmade marbled paper and 90lb. watercolor paper for the text block. The leather is dyed a dark forest green and has simple line tooling. I included front inlays and decorative aged metal pieces to finish it off.

Wow this is very nice, love it :) I know some people in my school (Conservation& Restauration, the ones in Paper) who'd probably looove to work with you :D I still don't get how you can get such marble paper though, must be really fascinating to make. Did you learn this at school or is it just a hobby? Anyway, awesome job :D

I do not teach because I have no time. I am so busy with designing and bookbinding. On day maybe.
As for the metal pieces that I use, it is a mixture of hand tooled scrap metal and old jewelry I find at garage sales.
Ya gotta improvise ya know.
cheers

Great looking book. Do you teach a class on making them. J/K. I was actually wondering where did you get your metal fixtures from. I am looking for some for my books and have not had any luck yet. Again great looking book too.

It may be dark green, but looks rather dk brown in the photographs. Great book binding work as always :D

Yeah, it has some dark brown qualities. The green s very faint. Kinda like walking in a forest til you enter into the dark center of the unknown. Thanks for the comment.
